I was planning my next post after the marathon that was Panama. I have fostered two lovely little puppies, we only have them for 1 more week! they are called Snapper and Chub after two of the fish we monitor on the reef here.

I have been diving in Cozumel which is consistently named as one of the best dive sites in the world. We saw a sea horse and splendid toadfish as well as a hawksbill turtle!!

My Divemaster is continuing, if slowly, I am ticking tasks off and feeling much more confident with my diving.
We helped at an animal sanctuary as we have had bad weather so lots of non dive days, we met lots of animals including a five foot iguana who has doubled in weight since he was unchained and taken from a man who was using him so that tourists could pose for photos.

The best news though is that I finally got a wheelchair for Alison our captain Hilario’s daughter who has Moyàmoya. I have never met Alison until this week, and her smile when we gave her the wheelchair was magical. I had put a plea on Facebook and a lovely lady from Utah who has contacts offered to help! It took a few months but she brought the wheelchair to puerto Morelos when she came here on holiday and I gathered some volunteers and we took it straight over. Hilario had to put Alison’s feet on the foot tests and lift her arm onto the arm rest as it’s still paralysed from the stroke she had when she was little. She said thank you to all of us and gave me a big hug. Hilario and I had tears in our eyes. I can’t imagine your child being so poorly and having to depend on other people to get the things that they need. https://bit.ly/Alisonmoyamoya tells you more about her situation.

So that is a little catch up until my next post. I hope you are all well. Sending love and bubbles
