I’m back!!!

Having so many photographs on my blog had used up all my storage on here. I have been searching for a WordPress discount code to upgrade my plan, and finally they emailed me with 30% off plans!!
(FLASH18J80XW if it helps anyone else.)

Base is getting busier with numbers increasing every two weeks, the temperature is already increasing with the water temperature back up to 28 degrees which is not good news for the coral. Things are changing here as our dive coordinator has handed in her notice to go home to England, so a new dive coordinator from Columbia is starting in May. I am still working towards my Divemaster but we have had lots of no dive days here due to high winds which means the port has been closed, and all qualifications have been delayed.

I had the sad news that my lovely Gramps has died. He and my Nan met when they were teens and got married as soon as they could. They had their whole lives together and had two daughters who gave them four grandchildren and lots of grand children! My mum was the eldest daughter, I am the eldest of the grandchildren and when I got pregnant with Ben so young my grandad was my one supporter who told me everything would be ok. He could be irrational and cantankerous, but he always told me he loved me, and after the initial tears was always happy to see me. When I came to Mexico in 2020 he thought that the videos I sent back were things I was watching on tv, and although I don’t think he really grasped what I would be doing here the last time I saw him and told him about this job, I know he was proud of me. I’m going to be making some good memories for you Gramps!

My Panama post is nearly ready, and I’m going to Cozumel diving tomorrow so I’ll definitely be telling you all about that, but until then here are some puppy photos of two little foster puppies who are living in the staff house with us……

One response to “I’m back!!!”

  1. So sorry for your loss Abi. Gramps sounds as if he was a lovely man. I like the puppies. Bet they’re great fun and into loads of mischief. I enjoy reading about your experiences.
